Extreme Conditions - The Coldest Day On Record!

It is the coldest day on record here today. When I went shopping this morning right after I dropped Jade off at school (amber is home sick at the moment) it was only 2 degrees! It is freezing!... well it is freezing by my standards anyway, which I might add, has got me thinking. If it is only 2 degrees and I consider it freezing, how on earth would I manage to live somewhere where it snows?? I complain about the cold - and we don't even get snow! I don't think it helps that we live on the very top of a rather large hill - right on the ridge and it gets very, very windy up here, and the wind is...well, freezing!

Maybe I just can't handle extreme conditions - and I say that with a certain level of sarcasm. I mean, I can't handle the heat when it's summer - anything above 30 degrees is a heatwave for me, and I can't handle the cold either...maybe I was just born to kvetch?! If I wasn't, Aaron certainly was, geez, anyone got some ear plugs? He just said he is thinking of setting himself on fire he is so cold! Lol!

Anyway, today I am posting some photos I took of Ruby (3yrs) at the playground in the next town when we went a few days ago - that was a sunny day!

Ok, I can't feel my fingers anymore so thats it from me today.

.... Just another day ....

I believe the correct meteorological term for your weather today is "Jewish Mother wear your Hat, sweater and Glove alert"

I can't imagine it being cold anywhere right now! Though a range of Celsius 2-30 sounds kind of nice when we fluctuate between being in the minus to being near 40 over here.

Beautiful natural light shots of Ruby! Stay warm!

Just another COLD Day..
I'm so glad we're past winter as I've never been a big fan of cold frigid temps.

Great pictures..the girls are getting BIG.

Look at it this way, no hurricanes or typhoons to worry about at this time of the year, right?

"just another day" is right!
Always,

Wait till you're stuck in -40 weather in a broken car in the middle of Ukraine . . . Now that's cold.
Those pictures look warm though . . .

Wow over here it's been 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit! You really live on the otherside of the world I guess.

Yid: Lol! Thanks - you are right! :D

Raggedy: I know it gets much colder in other places - thank goodness I am not there, imagine how much I would whinge then! Lol! Oh, and it gets much hotter than 30 here too, we had a number of days during summer around 45 degrees - those are the days where I could just live in the pool!

Crusty: I am sure it gets much colder where you are!
We don't get hurricanes or typhoons here at all thank goodness!
Yes, the girls are growing... very fast!

About the profile pic, all you have to do is edit your profile by uploading a smallish picture in the photograph section and save. After that it should be there. I don't know if I have explained it very well, but if you need more help, feel free to email me at baleboostehATgmailDOTcom.

Mottel: BRRRRRRRR! No thanks! :D

JBM: We certainly do :)

Hi BB!
Beautiful pics, because you have a beautiful subject to work with!

Come to Cleveland, OH, USA sometime. We have many seasons to choose from - hot, hot and humid, stinking hot, cold, bitter cold, and freeze your arse off cold just to mention a few! Then there are the tornado watches and warnings, thunderstorms, snow, sleet and hail.
But we do like to throw in some glorious days, too - just enough to keep everyone from moving away!!

Hope Amber is feeling better.

Amber seems to be much better today, hopefully back to school tommorrow.

Why would a person ever want to live somewhere where it snows? Believe me, it is not fun. And do not listen to the meshuggene Jooz who tell you otherwise ;-)

Psst. I love the snow...but when it's snowing it's not all that cold. Then again, I also prefer cold to heat anyway. It's been so hot here I can't even move during the day. Better to bundle up and be warm than sit in just your skin and not be able to cool down.

p.s. I love the new display image!

Hi Lemon,
Thank you! There aren't many times that we go out shopping where someone doesn't comment on how cute Ruby is... I think she is cute but I am her mother - it would be kind of weird if I didn't! Lol! :D

HT,
Lol! I know, our winter is like heaven to a lot of people! I really don't think I could handle your kind of winter.
I will have to update your link on my blogroll.

Snoop,
I think it would kind of be fun for the first 2 days - I haven't been to the snow fields since I was about 3 yrs! But, I think once the novelty wore off it would be hell! Lol!

Sara,
I thought I preferred the cold to heat... but that was back in summer when we were frying! Now I think the cold is not so great either! Lol!
Oh, I don't know...never happy!
