I got up at 7.30am this morning to get the girls off to school. While I was getting breakfast ready, I booted up my computer and went to check on the JIB's. Much to my horror, I discovered that the entire website is gone - it has been Hacked.
I quickly went to a few of the committee members blogs to see what they have to say about it, but it seems noone yet knows/or is talking about it.
Bagelblogger has more info on it and will be updating as more news comes to hand, so go over to his site and read his latest post "The JIB awards have been hacked"
It is very sad considering the amount of work Akiva in particular had put into it, but, unfortunately it seemed bound to happen.
********* UPDATE *********
- It now appears that Bagelblogger may have found some rather 'personal' details belonging to the hacker of the JIB's...
- Good news, JIBs site now seems to be back up...hmmm
.... Just another day ....

how disappointing
Strange! But you know that I do prefer carnivals!!!
the committee knew right away. we discussed it by email. I commented on my site offhandedly a little later.
This is the second time, by the way.
Wow! Who knew such drama would surround the JIB awards. This is like a soap opera! :0
That is really disappointing! I just hope the organizers and volunteers know how much their work is appreciated. The hackers have not stopped me from voting or discovering some amazing new blogs thanks to the JIBs!
Thank you all for your input.
Yes it is very disappointing, at least the site is back and working now.
Lets hope it doesn't happen again - to much work has gone into these awards for them to be ruined.
